Mottisfont

A few weekends ago me and Mum visited my Auntie Val down in the New Forest, it was the start of the good weather so we decided to take a trip out to Mottisfont, a National Trust property near Romsey.

The main reason for our choice of this venue was the exhibition of E.H Shepard's Wind in the Willows original prints, but we found out there was so much more than just the wonderful pictures!

There's trout in this river

The house that had a wonderful history

This horse was made from chicken wire...amazing

The ice house

Toad's caravan
(all around the house and gardens were displays relating to Mole, Ratty, Badger and Toad)

"There is nothing--absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats."
~Ratty said to Mole

Now what's in this box?! Take a look......

Its weasels!!!!!!!!!! Be careful

We ended our visit with a walk along the river, what a beautiful day in a beautiful place.

Sunshine

We've been waiting for summer for a long time here in the UK and its finally arrived, after what felt like months and months of rain its hot, very HOT!

I've been trying to sew in the garden but struggle in the heat so I'm popping in and out, enjoying my plants and wishing the tomatoes would hurry up and ripen!

Happy Birthday Weekend

It was my Birthday on Sunday and our 4th anniversary on Monday.
We usually go away for this weekend but this year did things a bit differently. Lex booked it all as surprise! I knew what days we where going but had no clue where until we arrived at the airport, he managed to keep it surprise all the way until boarding the plane, clever boy that he is.

I guess you are wondering where we went.......

Well we flew to Nice, France and then grab a hire car and drove to a small village called Tourrettes sur Loup. We stayed at the most wonderful place called La Residence du Moulin which I would highly recommend if you are looking for a quite and relaxing time, it was perfect.

We both love the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France and have been before so we returned to a few favourite places and explored some new ones.

Here's a little selection of the things we got up to.....

Here's the view from our villa!
The pool was lush

This is me in a little bar in Tourrettes Sur Loup

 and here's the view and...

this darling little bird was very busy above my head

Me trying to burn off a few calories

We took a boat from Cannes to
Isla Santa Margarita
 Such a beautiful untouched island

 "Hallo" little lizard!

This is the beach in Nice

Of course we had to do a bit of wine tasting!

We managed to bring a few bottles home
with us for special occasions

Veggie shopping

Alleys in Valbonne

The view of Saint Paul de Vence

Its full of interesting shops and art galleries

 and yummy macaroons!

Now its back to reality and I have a busy 6 weeks ahead of me as the count down to the TBAI begins!
